# Terms
## Who checks this plugin
Whoever installs it carries its risk. Wherever it is listed, the listing is
not an endorsement; the registry it came from says what, if anything, it
checked. The
[Platform Terms](https://open-meridian.com/terms) govern.
## The ECB's terms
What this plugin's builders noted, to check against the ECB's own words,
which can change. Not legal advice.
- The ECB's website allows free use of the information obtained from it,
provided it is reproduced accurately and the ECB is cited as the source;
where the information is modified, that must be stated; where it is
included in something sold, buyers must be told it is free from the ECB
([copyright and disclaimer](https://www.ecb.europa.eu/home/disclaimer/html/index.en.html)).
- The reference rates are published for information purposes only, and the
ECB discourages using them for transactions
([euro foreign exchange reference rates](https://www.ecb.europa.eu/stats/policy_and_exchange_rates/euro_reference_exchange_rates/html/index.en.html)).
- The ECB accepts no liability for decisions made in reliance on the rates.
- €STR: the ECB says it does not charge for the €STR or license its use;
its website's terms above apply to what is read from it
([euro short-term rate](https://www.ecb.europa.eu/stats/financial_markets_and_interest_rates/euro_short-term_rate/html/index.en.html)).
- No key and no account: the plugin reads the ECB's public Data Portal.
## Attribution
Show "Source: European Central Bank" wherever the rates or €STR are shown or
passed on, and say so where they are changed. Each dataset's default licence
declares its values kept, with derived use and display; the attribution
itself is shown on the Datasets page, and belongs in your licence's
attribution (or its note).
The dataset's licence on your Data sources page is what your deployment
records; neither the plugin nor this page says whether your use meets
anyone's terms. This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by the
European Central Bank.
## The licence
The plugin is Apache-2.0. The ECB's answers committed with it are the
portal's reference rates as received on 19 October 2026, and its €STR series
as received on 23 October 2026.
