# Databento's terms
A summary, not legal advice. Read Databento's own terms and each dataset's
licensing on databento.com before relying on it.
- **Plans.** Historical data on every plan, usage-based (billed by volume)
or flat; live data from the Standard plan up. Databento passes each
venue's licence fees through to you.
- **Live licences** are per dataset, set up through Databento's licensing
questionnaire: your subscriber status (personal or commercial) and use
(display or non-display) decide the venue's fees. Databento US Equities
Mini carries no venue fee, for personal and commercial use; OPRA's
personal licence is per device, and a firm's use is under OPRA's own
agreement.
- **Distribution.** Showing data to outside parties, or redistributing it,
is a separate entitlement and depends on each venue's terms.
## What the plugin declares
So the plugin declares each dataset's default terms conservatively: shown to
people, derived data for internal use only, never redistributed; OPRA's one
person's. Your deployment's Data sources page records the licence you enter
and warns when more than one person can read a plugin entitled to a
one-person dataset. Open Meridian does not decide whether your use meets
Databento's or a venue's terms; the licence records what you entered.
