# Terms
## Who checks this plugin
Whoever installs it carries its risk. Wherever it is listed, the listing is
not an endorsement of the plugin or of SnapTrade; the registry it came from
says what, if anything, it checked. The
[Platform Terms](https://open-meridian.com/terms) govern.
## SnapTrade's terms
SnapTrade is a third party. You use it under your own agreement with
SnapTrade: its terms, plans, prices and data-use limits are SnapTrade's, at
[snaptrade.com](https://snaptrade.com), with its developer documentation at
[docs.snaptrade.com](https://docs.snaptrade.com). Read them before you
connect an account.
What this plugin's builders noted about them, to check against SnapTrade's
current terms, which change:
- **A personal key** belongs to one SnapTrade user and is for the account
holder's own personal use.
- **Other people's accounts**, such as a firm's clients', need SnapTrade's
commercial integration: each person connects as a SnapTrade user under the
firm's key, through the firm's consent flow and under the firm's agreement
with SnapTrade.
- **Tax lots** come only from some brokerages, and with a paid SnapTrade
add-on.
- **A manual refresh** of a connection SnapTrade serves from its cache may be
charged by SnapTrade; on its real-time plans a manual refresh is refused.
- **Some brokerages** are read-only or delayed through SnapTrade.
- **Your brokerage sign-in** is entered in SnapTrade's Connection Portal and
held by SnapTrade, never by your deployment.
## Your due diligence
Your firm carries its own vendor due diligence, on SnapTrade and on this
plugin: the terms and licences, security, regulatory status, and whether
each is fit for your firm's purpose.
## Your data
- What the plugin reads and records stays in your deployment, which runs in
your own environment.
- Your SnapTrade key reaches the plugin as a setting and nowhere else: it is
never logged, shown or kept in what the plugin stores.
- SnapTrade's answers are kept, credentials removed, in storage for as long
as each kind's window says, then archived, kept or deleted as you choose
on Settings, never inside your deployment's hold.
