# Terms

## Whose terms

The terms under which you use Terrapin's data are between you and Terrapin
Finance Ltd. This plugin declares no default licence for its datasets; the
deployment admin sets each dataset's licence on the Data sources page. What
follows describes Terrapin's published terms in plain words, as read on 30
October 2026 (terrapinfinance.com/terms, updated 29 October 2026), to help
you and your agent decide; it is not legal advice, and Terrapin's own text
governs.

## Terrapin's published terms

- **Licence.** Use is for your internal business purposes or personal use,
as your subscription tier specifies.
- **Self-serve tiers** (Starter, Build, Startup) are for personal,
development and non-commercial use: no commercial products, client-facing
applications or reports, and no production systems such as trading or
risk. Commercial and production use is under an Enterprise agreement with
Terrapin.
- **Redistribution.** No redistribution, resale, sublicensing or access by
third parties, beyond the AI use Terrapin permits; no public posting; keys
are not shared or pooled.
- **Storage.** No caching beyond what your tier's legitimate use needs.
The lake keeps what this plugin records: set each dataset's retention to
what your agreement allows.
## Derived data, attribution and AI

- **Derived data.** No competing product; on self-serve tiers, no derived
products in production.
- **Attribution**, where your terms permit display: Terrapin asks to be
credited as the data's provider.
- **AI.** An assistant acting for you is permitted; training or building
models on the data is not, on self-serve tiers.
## Pricing

- **Pricing**, as published: the Startup tier is a monthly subscription
with a monthly quota of distinct ISINs and of search ISINs, a year of
history and a request rate limit; Enterprise is by agreement.

## Underlying sources

Terrapin states that its municipal prints come from
MSRB's post-trade feeds and its municipal terms from official statements
and disclosures; its government curves are its own construction from
benchmark bonds' end-of-day prices. MSRB's terms for its data may apply
alongside Terrapin's.

## Open questions

Put to Terrapin (the plugin waits on its answers): where
its government, corporate and agency end-of-day prices come from and
whether they are clean or dirty; the compounding of its zero curve; what a
deployment may keep; and its Enterprise terms.
